He obtained his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Psychology. In 2023, he obtained a certificate as an HIV Specialist from the American Academy of HIV Medicine. Alex has special interests in hepatitis C treatment, transgender care, STI counseling and treatment, LGBTQIA+ care, and HIV PrEP care. Alex approaches medicine using a holistic approach. Holistic health is an approach to life that considers multidimensional aspects of wellness. It encourages medical providers to recognize the whole person: physical, mental, emotional, social, intellectual, and spiritual.

Alex is currently accepting new patients at the Milwaukee and Green Bay clinics

Dr. Baertlein then attended the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in Louisville, Kentucky obtaining her doctorate of dental medicine degree in 2004. She has additional certifications in laser dentistry, aesthetic dentistry including veneers, Invisalign, and has completed advanced training in oral surgery and implant dentistry. Dr. Baertlein has worked in various clinical settings throughout her career as a dental provider including private practice, group practice, corrections, dental consultant, and public health.
